These Sunday’s are coming up so fast. The internet has been popping off this week about Andre 3000s unlikely new album and in personal news, I found a new “musical kindred spirit” (as someone I work with calls it) on NTS. Also dropping another hearty but healthy mid-week comfort food recipe and a doco about a badass woman in art. If you’re liking what you’re reading, drop this post a like or a comment ❤️
Speaking of Alice Coltrane from List #2, Andre 3000 just released an ambient jazz album called New Blue Sun - he swapped rapping for the flute, collaborating with keyboardist and Alice Coltrane acolyte Surya Botofasina. It’s always amazing to see examples of artists like this, or anyone for that matter, just do whatever the heck they want. I’m sure it’s not easy, no matter how famous, to stray from your usual thing and back yourself like that, but I love the idea of living 10 lives in one.
Qendresa’s NTS program - To me, the concept of a musical kindred spirit means someone that shares your taste but — because they’re leading a different life and are exposed to different things — they find music you haven’t yet for you Qendresa is an amazing R&B singer, but she’s also got a great program on NTS where she prescribes some pretty half-hearted dating advice, but she plays a nice mix of 80s hip hop and r&b.
Watching this Peggy Guggenheim Art Addict doco - years ago my mum sent me this article “Sex and Art by the Grand Canal: how Peggy Guggenheim Took Venice.” This one is definitely worth a watch.
Red Hand Files - the unlikely paternal figure of the internet, Nick Cave’s ‘ask-me-anything’ blog The Red Hand Files is a place I sometimes return to get his take on things.

Making, this red lentil curry recipe - by Rainbow Plant Life. It’s got way more spices then I’d usually use but really levels up my usual version. 9
